No. If you already have RipplesIPS anchors deployed for pallet or inventory tracking, forklift tags run on the same mesh network – there’s no separate gateway infrastructure to install. Adding forklift tracking to an existing deployment is largely a matter of tagging the trucks.

How is this different from a fleet management system?

Traditional fleet management systems for forklifts typically focus on telematics – engine hours, fuel or battery levels, and maintenance scheduling. BLE-based location tracking is complementary rather than a replacement: it answers “where is this forklift right now” in real time, which telematics systems generally don’t cover on their own.

Can tracking data integrate with our WMS?
